New Jersey’s Garden State Parkway Unveils Young Driver Plan
New Jersey officials are launching a program aimed at making the Garden State Parkway safer for young drivers.
“Reinventing Safety 365” calls for making state troopers more visible and using social media to explain to young motorists how driving on a toll road is different.
Eleven of the 16 deaths on the parkway between January and September involved drivers in their 20s.
New Jersey Turnpike Authority Operations Director Sean Hill tells The Record newspaper the program will rely on partnerships with state police and colleges.
