GEICO Seeks College Grads for its Virginia-Based Leadership Program
GEICO’s Fredericksburg, Va., regional office is seeking college graduates for its Supervisor Leadership Program, a fast-track, entry level management training program that develops future GEICO business and team leaders.
“Part of GEICO’s success is directly attributed to the professional growth and development of our associates,” said Nancy Pierce, regional vice president of GEICO’s Fredericksburg office. “GEICO’s Supervisor Leadership Program is a great avenue for college graduates to learn our business as they prepare for leadership roles in the company.”
The program requires candidates have a bachelor’s degree in business, or significant business coursework, and an overall, undergraduate GPA of 3.2 or higher. Qualified candidates for the program will also have demonstrated leadership within their campus, community or prior work experience.
Michelle Smedley, a GEICO customer service manager, mentioned that her success at GEICO can be traced back to program. “The Supervisor Leadership Program allowed me an opportunity to build upon the leadership skills I developed in college while gaining experience and refining leadership abilities that I use in my job today. The program offers recent graduates a well-rounded introduction into management and also prepares them for long-term success at GEICO.”
Since its opening in 1990, the company’s Fredericksburg has been one of the area’s largest, private employers with more than 3,000 associates. The regional office was recently named “2013 Best Places to Work in Virginia” by Virginia Business and Best Companies Group.
