New Hampshire Man Gets Suspended Sentence for Insurance Fraud
A New Hampshire man has received a 12-month suspended sentence after pleading guilty to insurance fraud.
Police said Peter St. Laurent of Nashua was in a one-car accident on Aug. 15, 2011, on the Daniel Webster Highway. His car was towed to his mother’s home a few minutes away. Progressive Northern Insurance initiated a policy for St. Laurent by phone.
Police said the next day, St. Laurent called Progressive and reported he had been in another car accident early that morning, and claimed damages over $1,000.
Later that month, when Progressive asked St. Laurent to provide a complete statement about the accident, he withdrew the claim.
