Fire Damages Section of Atlantic City Boardwalk
Atlantic City officials say a late-night fire damaged about 100 feet of the resort’s boardwalk.
Fire Chief Dennis Brooks tells The Press of Atlantic City the blaze appears to have started in a large storage unit used by boardwalk businesses.
And he says it appears to be a case of arson.
The fire department got the call shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday.
Brooks says the fire, on the boardwalk at St. James Place, got big quickly and went to two alarms. As a result he says the department was able to get a lot of water on the fire quickly and keep the damage from being even worse.
Investigators are looking at video from nearby businesses with security cameras.
