October 22, 2013

Authorities say a tractor-trailer driver was nearly five times over the legal limit for operating a commercial vehicle while intoxicated when he was arrested at an upstate New York shopping plaza.

State police say they received a call late Saturday morning about a driver of a Coca-Cola truck who was intoxicated at the Price Chopper Plaza in the Saratoga County town of Malta, 20 miles north of Albany.

Troopers say John Guillaume of Schenectady had a blood-alcohol content of 0.19 percent. The legal limit to operate a commercial vehicle in New York is 0.04 percent.

Operating a commercial vehicle over 0.18 percent a felony. Guillaume was charged with aggravated felony driving while intoxicated.

He’s being held in the county jail Sunday. It couldn’t be determined if he had a lawyer.
