New Jersey Transit Board Considers $2.5M Crash Settlement
New Jersey Transit’s board is set to vote on whether to agree to a $2.5 million settlement to resolve a lawsuit stemming from an accident in the Lincoln Tunnel.
The accident occurred in 2011. Motorcyclist Keith Nystrom was rear-ended by an NJ Transit bus and pushed into a bus in front of him. He suffered serious injuries.
Nystrom’s attorney has said Nystrom was riding in the bus lane. His lawsuit alleged the bus driver didn’t see the bus in front of him stop and failed to put on his brakes in time.
NJ Transit’s board was scheduled to vote on whether to approve the settlement at its monthly board meeting on Wednesday.
