Vermont Police Say Cause Unclear in Waterbury Fire
Vermont State Police fire investigators say they don’t know what caused a fire that heavily damaged a building in downtown Waterbury, but it’s not considered suspicious.
The fire in the Stowe Street building was reported just after 5 a.m. Tuesday.
Firefighters from Waterbury, Middlesex and Stowe helped extinguish the fire.
There were no injuries. Damage is estimated at about $150,000.
Two nearby buildings suffered some damage from the heat.
