Fire Suppression System Blankets New Hampshire Customers
A convenience store is offering to reimburse residents in Rochester, N.H., who were covered in powder when a fire suppression system accidentally discharged at the gas pumps.
Foster’s Daily Democrat reports that several people and vehicles at the Cumberland Farms were blanketed by sodium bicarbonate Monday evening during a test of the store’s fire suppression system.
Cumberland Farms spokesman Derek Beckwith says the company will reimburse people for laundry expenses and car washes to remove the powder. Fire Capt. Mark Avery says the powder is not a health hazard.
