New York Senator Pushes FEMA to OK $6.7M for Troy Seawall
New York Sen. Charles Schumer is calling on the Federal Emergency Management Agency to approve $6.7 million for repairs to the city of Troy’s seawall.
The seawall was damaged in 2011 by floods from Tropical Storm Irene. Schumer’s office says the lack of repairs is putting the city’s downtown businesses at risk and jeopardizes efforts to revitalize the area.
About $50 million in public and private construction projects are slated for the city’s waterfront.
