Fewer Auto Accidents in Vermont Than in 2012
Vermont State Police say the number of motor vehicle crashes was down this past Memorial Day weekend compared to two years ago.
There were 41 crashes compared to 56 in 2012, and no fatal crashes in either year.
The number of alcohol related crashes also was down – four compared to seven in 2012.
Authorities say the numbers for 2013 were not readily available.
And police say they issued fewer speeding tickets over the weekend – 414 compared to 716 in 2012.
Police also say they spotted half as many seat belt violations.
Vermont State Police took part in a national enforcement campaign during this past Memorial Day weekend to reduce serious injury and fatal motor vehicle crashes.
