New York City Fire Truck Drivers to Take Safe-Driving Course
The outgoing FDNY commissioner says that the department has budgeted $1.3 million for a one-day “refresher” driving course for every ambulance and fire truck driver.
Commissioner Sal Cassano told the City Council on Monday that the classes are part of the city’s “Vision Zero” plan to reduce traffic accidents and fatalities.
The New York Post reports that Cassano also said that by 2016 all fire houses will have separate bathrooms for female firefighters.
