New Jersey Psychologist Faces Insurance Fraud Charges
Authorities in Monmouth County have accused a psychologist of submitting approximately 120 fraudulent insurance claims totaling more than $15,000.
Prosecutors have charged 62-year-old Edward Merski of Old Bridge with healthcare claims fraud, insurance fraud, theft by deception and witness tampering.
Authorities say Merski offered money to two patients in exchange for dropping a civil lawsuit which could have exposed the fraudulent billing practices.
Merski is free on $50,000 bail. It’s not clear if he has a lawyer.
