Men Charged in Northern New Jersey Home Burglaries
Four men held in New York are facing charges stemming from a rash of home burglaries in northern New Jersey.
Their arrests follow a nine-month investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office that began after more than 30 homes were robbed in Bergen, Morris and Somerset counties. Investigators say the homes were in affluent neighborhoods and the burglaries shared similarities.
Police moved in after two homes were robbed in Warren and Bridgewater on Thursday.
Authorities have charged Teaneck residents Jamelle Singletary, Lawal Erskine and Jamaal Sermon with conspiracy to commit burglary.
Authorities also charged David Tadjiev of Astoria, New York, with conspiracy to commit theft. Prosecutors say he fenced the stolen goods.
