Western New York Epic Snowstorm Claims 14th Life
Authorities in western New York have attributed a 14th death to last month’s lake-effect storms that dumped more than 7 feet of snow on the Buffalo area.
Local media report that Erie County officials say a man from Hamburg has died of complications from a cardiac arrest suffered while clearing snow during the week of Nov. 17, when up to 90 inches fell on the region over several days.
Officials say the 50-year-old man was stricken during the storm and passed away this past week.
Authorities have said several of the 13 other deaths blamed on the storm were related to cardiac arrests suffered while shoveling snow.
