Former Pro Wrestlers Sue WWE Over Concussions
Two former professional wrestlers accuse the WWE of ignoring concussions they say left them with serious brain injuries.
The men have filed a potential class-action lawsuit in federal court in Philadelphia. That’s where a judge is weighing a similar case that could yield a $1 billion settlement for thousands of former NFL players.
The WWE plaintiffs are Evan Singleton, of Lancaster, and Vito LoGrasso, of Coatesville.
Singleton performed under the name Adam Mercer from 2012 to 2013. The suit says he is now disabled due to brain trauma.
LoGrasso wrestled under various names, including Skull Von Krush. The lawsuit says LoGrasso suffers from migraines, memory loss, depression and deafness after nearly a decade with the WWE.
The Stamford, Connecticut-based company says it will comment later Tuesday.
The lawsuit seeks unspecified economic damages and medical monitoring.
