IICRC Consultants Honored Before the Board of Directors
Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) president, Lee Zimmerman, recognized Larry Cooper and Jeff Bishop for their many years of support and contributions as volunteer IICRC Board Members during the recent Spring Board of Directors meeting. Both Bishop and Cooper have recently been contracted as consultants for the IICRC (www.iicrc.org).
Cooper has 28 years experience in the carpet cleaning industry and has served as IICRC president and as an honorary board member of the IICRC. He currently is chairing the task force for the IICRC S500 Water Damage and S520 Mold Remediation Standards. He also served as the chair of the IICRC S100 Carpet Cleaning Standard which was revised in 2002.
Cooper has owned and operated several successful small and medium sized businesses with extensive experience in the inspection of carpet. He also serves as an expert witness for cases involving carpet cleaning, water damage restoration and cleaning and restoration type services. Textile Consultants, Inc. is his inspection company in Denver, Colo.
Bishop, former IICRC vice-president and chairman of the Certification Board, has been selected as the newly contracted IICRC Technical Advisor. He will oversee the continuation and development of technical information for the IICRC’s 18 certification categories and three industry standards, while representing the organization in many other technical issues.
A second-generation restorer, Bishop’s expertise include: IICRC-Certified Master Textile Cleaner, Master Fire and Smoke Restorer, Carpet Inspector, Vinyl, Wood and Laminate Flooring Inspector and Mold Remediation Supervisor. He is a consultant to various fiber producers, carpet mills and insurance training schools and serves on the advisory board of the Insurance Technical Training Institute and as a director of the International Society of Cleaning Technicians. Bishop was honored as an inductee into the Cleaning and Restoration Hall of Fame in 1989 and the Cleaning Management Institute’s Hall of Fame in 2002.
The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification is the certification registry that develops and monitors educational programs and standards for the inspection, cleaning and restoration industry.
Founded in 1972, IICRC is a non-profit registry of inspectors, cleaners and restorers serving the U.S., Canada, Great Britain and Australia. IICRC is owned and controlled by 16 regional and international industry trade associations.
