MapInfo Corp. Unveils IDSS for Industry
MapInfo Corporation announced that its Insurance Decision Solution Suite (IDSS) is now available for insurance companies worldwide, to map and manage risk.
With IDSS’ country-specific data, insurance carriers or reinsurers with global headquarters or subsidiaries can see a visual representation of their policyholders in relation to risk areas. These areas include known natural disaster zones, as well as political and cultural landmarks, which might be at risk of a terrorist attack.
The in-depth, global view of risk in each country or region enables insurance companies to improve risk management, underwriting and customer care. IDSS is available now for the United States and the United Kingdom, as well as through strategic business partner KOREM for Canada. Data to meet the needs of other countries, such as Germany and Australia, are currently under development.
“Risk is universal. It’s a major area of concern for all insurance companies, regardless of their location,” said Kimberly Morton, director, location-based risk management, MapInfo. “Now, with IDSS, insurance companies with international clients and partners can view their policies in relation to country-specific information, such as potential terrorist targets or flood zones, for improved decision-making.”
