Saskatchewan WC Board Chooses BEA Program
BEA Systems Inc., a provider in enterprise infrastructure software, announced that the Saskatchewan Workers’ Compensation Board, Canada, has selected BEA WebLogic Platform 8.1 as the new platform for its online storefront, replacing IBM WebSphere Application Server.
The Workers’ Compensation Board, an independent board established by the government of Saskatchewan, the province’s no-fault workplace injury comp system, serves the province’s one million residents and 35,000 employers. The Board is migrating its Web presence onto the BEA platform as part of an initiative designed to make the organization more agile and more responsive to the needs of workers, caregivers and business operators.
The new portal can be designed to provide users with more self-service capabilities related to billing, claims submission and reporting and to help facilitate integration between the Board’s core business applications and the systems used by partners, such as hospitals and healthcare clinics.
The portal will be designed to employ a service-oriented architecture (SOA) designed to help maximize flexibility and minimize costs through code reusability and standards-based development and integration.
