InsureWorx’ PowerComp Chosen by Yukon Workers’ Comp Health and Safety Board
InsureWorx, an industry participant in providing software solutions to the workers’ compensation carrier market, announced that Yukon Workers’ Compensation Health and Safety Board (YWCHSB) has selected InsureWorx to conduct an “Inception Phase” that will focus on determining how PowerComp J2EE Claims can be implemented to replace their existing legacy claims environment.
YWCHSB, the western most of the three Canadian Territories, is reportedly the latest in a list of AASCIF (American Association of State Compensation Insurance Funds) members who have selected the InsureWorx PowerComp solution.
The Yukon Workers’ Compensation, Health and Safety Board is governed by a board which includes one neutral chair, one neutral alternate chair, and four members equally representing workers and employers. The chair and alternate chair are non-voting members.
The Minister responsible for the Yukon Workers’ Compensation Health and Safety Board appoints these board members after consultation with stakeholders. The board administers two acts: the Workers’ Compensation Act, which provides for compensation to injured workers, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act, which sets occupational health and safety standards.
