OneBeacon Launches Online Marine Cargo Insurance Service
The Boston-based OneBeacon Insurance Group announced that its ocean marine division — International Marine Underwriters (IMU) — has launched a new Web-based cargo insurance service platform: http://www.imucargo.com. IMU’s ocean cargo customers and producers can use this secure system to issue electronic certificates of insurance, complete shipment and storage declarations online and create reports on demand,” said the bulletin.
One Beacon explained that IMUCargo.com “enables customers and agents to meet varying letter-of-credit requirements through adaptable forms; issue documentation in a multilingual format; customize documents and create templates for repeated use; and print and send documents via the Web. The system also allows third parties to verify certificate numbers.
“Additional features for storage and shipment servicing include: online management of storage, shipment and turnover declarations; automatic coverage validation and premium calculation for shipments of any complexity; document and report issuance in PDF or Excel formats.”
“High-quality service has long been an IMU hallmark,” noted Michelle O’Donovan, head of IMU’s Ocean Cargo team. “Ocean cargo customers and producers face increasing demands for timely execution of insurance certificates and other documentation in order to transact commercial ventures, and our state-of-the-art online system will substantially expedite that process through a collaborative real-time environment.”
IMUCargo.com is administered by Oceanwide, Inc., a leading provider of Web-based cargo insurance management software.
