Park Group Announces Promotions in Bermuda, London
The Park Group recently announced internal appointments and changes to its management structure. According to the Group’s written statement, “these changes bring our best talent to the forefront of our operations and solidify our position as a leading independent wholesale insurance and reinsurance broker.”
Key appointments include:
Michael Jenkins was promoted to deputy chairman of Park Bermuda Limited. Jenkins was managing director of Park Bermuda Limited for over seven years. As deputy chairman of Park Bermuda Limited, Jenkens will utilize his reinsurance expertise and vast knowledge of the marketplace to take advantage of current opportunities and amplify this critical division of the Park Bermuda operations, the Park Group release said.
Mark Simons was named managing director of Park Bermuda Limited. Prior to his promotion, Simons was the Global Professional Lines practice leader of The Park Group. Simons joined Park in March 2004 from Starr Excess, where he served as Financial Lines manager of their Bermuda operations. As managing director of Park Bermuda Limited, Mark will seek to capitalize on the individual product line expertise of the office and promote the Group’s growing capabilities across all operational areas.
William White was promoted to deputy managing director of Park London Limited. White, prior to his promotion, was the Global Property practice leader of The Park Group. White will be following in the footsteps of current managing director, Philip Buckingham, who took over the managing director role in October 2004.
According to the release, White will work closely with Phil Buckingham and The Park Group Executive Management team over the next six months to position the company for growth. White will assume the managing director role on Jan.1, 2007.
Joe LaRocco was named president of newly re-branded Park Americas, New York (Avreco, New York). LaRocco formerly was the Global Casualty practice leader of The Park Group. LaRocco joined Park Bermuda Limited effective September 2005 to head up the Casualty division. He was formerly with Marsh, where he held a number of senior positions, most recently managing director of the Casualty Division in Bermuda.
LaRocco will continue as Global Casualty practice leader while also working to drive business recruitment and growth initiatives that will build on successes from the New York office and augment The Park Group’s visibility in the US, Bermuda, and London.
