Joseph Joins Marsh UK’s FACS Team
Marsh UK announced that business interruption specialist Josephine Joseph has joined the broker’s European Forensic Accounting and Claims Services (FACS).
She joins FACS from Matson, Driscoll & Damico UK LLP, where she specialized in loss of profits claims, stock loss claims and employee fidelity claims. Joseph is a qualified forensic accountant and has handled cases that have included a mix of large and multinational insureds. She has worked on calculating business interruption and property losses in the Cayman Islands and Jamaica resulting from Hurricane Ivan as well as losses in Mexico from Hurricanes Wilma and Emily.
Commenting on Ms Joseph’s appointment, Caroline Woolley, a Vice President in FACS, stated: “The increasingly rigorous claims environment is fuelling the demand for specialist claims services from companies that have experienced losses. Insurers now frequently instruct forensic accountants to represent their interests and work alongside loss adjusters in the assessment of the claim.
“Getting back to ‘business as usual’ is any firm’s top priority after a significant loss, so we assist by removing the burden of the insurance claim, while also leveling the playing field by representing the client in the claims process. Business interruption is increasingly the more complex and significant part of the claim and, as a result, we are increasing our team to meet the need for dedicated forensic accountants.
She praised Joseph’s qualifications and “excellent track record in business interruption services,” indicating that she “has an incisive understanding of the issues clients face in trying to recover their losses and rebuild their businesses.”
