Willis Names Piccolomini to Head Continental Europe Operations
Willis Group Holdings announced that Flavio Piccolomini, former CEO of Willis’ Italian operations, Willis Italia Spa, has been appointed CEO for Continental Europe, including the Nordic region. He will report to Allan Gribben, CEO of Willis International and will be based in Milan. His role as CEO of Willis Italia will be taken over by Guido De Spirt.
Willis Continental Europe has approximately 2,000 Associates. The Eastern European countries will form part of a new Emerging Markets division led by Sarah Turvill, Chairman, Willis International and CEO, Willis Emerging Markets, which will build on the Group’s existing strength in Asia, the Middle East, Russia, Eastern Europe and South Africa.
Gribben commented: “Under Flavio’s leadership, Willis Italia has distinguished itself with excellent growth. We are confident that together with his strong international management team, he will create further commercial synergies and common platforms between the regional offices to improve efficiency and provide even greater service levels to Willis clients.”
