ACE Europe Launches IT Security Policy
ACE Europe announced that it has launched “ComputerGuard Plus,” its comprehensive IT hardware and network security policy, on the Safeonline broking system.
“Brokers using the Safeonline system can now quote and bind their ComputerGuard Plus policy in one quick easy step,” the bulletin continued. “Mid-term policy adjustment can also be made online making the whole process even simpler.
“ComputerGuard Plus combines ACE’s existing ComputerGuard policy, which provides all risk cover on IT equipment, with cover for financial losses as a result of crime or accidental damage to data and systems. It also includes elements of ACE’s market leading network risk policy – Dataguard, to cover losses resulting from hacking, web site defacement, denial of service attacks and viruses.”
Ian Harris, Senior Underwriter for ACE’s Technical Lines Department, noted: “The loss of data and hardware failure is a significant risk faced by most businesses today and ComputerGuard Plus can act as a safety net to cushion the financial impact of such a loss. We are delighted to be working with Safeonline in launching this product to a wider broker audience.”
Chris Cotterell, a partner at Safeonline, described adding ComputerGuard Plus as a “welcome addition to the product selection we offer brokers through our system.”
He also noted that throughout the world more and more companies, both large and small, are “being forced to focus on their network and data security. The combination of ComputerGuard and Dataguard (ComputerGuard Plus) from ACE is an ideal product for us to sell to these companies. The market is exactly right for a product of this nature, and Safeonline is pleased to be working with ACE to deliver it to our brokers via our tried and tested online system.”
ACE noted that Safeonline “is an independent Lloyd’s insurance broker based in London. Founded in 1998 it became a Limited Liability Partnership in 2006 following a management buy-out.” It offers “bespoke insurance and reinsurance solutions through its network of brokers and also provides access to its proprietary products and programs via an online system.”
