Panel Says Wild Weather Worsens
A new international climate report warns the world it had better get used to unusual weather extremes. That’s because global warming is making these disasters more severe.
The world already is accustomed to weird weather like this past weekend’s freak snowstorm in the Northeast, record flooding in Thailand and a horrible drought spawning wildfires in Texas.
But top climate scientists say the future may be even more extreme.
The Associated Press has obtained a draft summary of their report to be released at a meeting in Uganda in mid-November. The report says costs from extreme weather will rise and some regions may become “increasingly marginal as places to live.”
