Magnitude 5.8 Earthquake Rattles Northeast India
India’s Meteorological Department says an earthquake of magnitude 5.8 has shaken parts of India’s remote northeast. There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
The department’s website said the quake occurred on India’s border with Myanmar on Monday morning.
Tremors were felt in the states of Assam and Manipur.
