Taiwan Gravel Ship Sinks, Killing 6
Officials say a Taiwanese gravel ship has sunk off the northern coast of the island, leaving six crew members dead and two missing. Seven crew members have been rescued.
Taiwan’s coast guard says the bodies of four Indonesian and two Taiwanese crewmen from the “Ocean Glory” were recovered after the ship sank early Monday, shortly after embarking from the port of Keelung.
Local media outlets say heavy fog or rough seas may have caused the accident.
The coast guard says searchers rescued seven people and were still looking for the two missing crew members.
