Caribbean Carrier Says Fire Destroys Hangar, Plane
Caribbean airline LIAT says investigators are looking into a fire that destroyed one of its hangars, two offices and a Dash 8-300 plane. The carrier says it suffered a significant loss.
A Monday statement from the Antigua-based airline says it is working with Antiguan investigators and the Eastern Caribbean Civil Aviation Authority to determine the cause of the late Sunday fire.
The airline says its flights are running normally.
LIAT serves 21 destinations across the Caribbean. Its shareholders include the governments of Antigua, Barbados and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
