Polish Airlines to Sell Boeing That Belly-Landed
Poland’s national carrier LOT says it is selling a Boeing 767 plane that belly-landed last year.
The company said Wednesday that repairing the damaged plane would cost too much.
The plane, carrying 231 people from Newark, New Jersey, made an emergency landing at Warsaw’s Frederic Chopin airport on Nov. 1 after its landing gear failed to open.
LOT said in a statement it will accept offers for the sale of the plane as it is, or for its parts, until early July.
The plane’s pilot, Tadeusz Wrona, has become a national hero.
