People News: Hiscox, Mississippi Insurance Dept., Innovative Coverage Concepts
Hiscox, the international specialist insurer, announced today the appointment of David McLaughlin as Chief Financial Officer in the US. McLaughlin is based in Atlanta and will report to Ben Walter, Chief Executive Officer for Hiscox in the US.
McLaughlin brings more than 20 years of operational and financial experience to Hiscox. He joins Hiscox from Fiserv, where he held a number of divisional CFO positions, most recently covering their Digital Banking, Financial Institutions, and Enterprise Technology Groups.
Prior to Fiserv, McLaughlin held several senior finance roles at Bank of America, including senior vice president, Consumer & Small Business Loan Loss Reserves. He also held a number of positions at Delta Air Lines, including that of general manager of Revenue Analysis & Control, leading six corporate finance functions.
In the US, Hiscox has offices in New York, NY; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA and White Plains, NY.
Vanessa Miller was named director of the Licensing Division of the Mississippi Insurance Department by Commissioner Mike Chaney, effective February 1, 2018.
Miller has been employed with the Mississippi Insurance Department for over nine years, working in the Financial and Market Regulation Division. A Jackson native, she is an active member of the Society of Financial Examiners (SOFE), obtaining a Certified Financial Examiner (CFE) designation in 2011 and is a current member of the Securities & Insurance Licensing Association (SILA). She is also a member of the International Association of Insurance Professionals (IAIP).
Innovative Coverage Concepts, LLC (ICC), a national wholesale broker and managing general agency, appointed Brian L. Eighmy director of Claims.
Eighmy has 20 years of experience in claims management, including senior leadership positions at national third party administrators. Most recently, he was assistant vice president of the Major Case Unit for Arch Insurance Group. In this position, he had oversight of the insurer’s most severe claim situations, which involved complex coverage issues, legal strategies or large exposures.
From 2008 to 2014, he was assistant vice president of Claims with Berkley Program Specialists, a member of WR Berkley Corp. Prior to that, he was president of Blue Leaf Claims, Inc., a national TPA. Earlier, he was an assistant vice president at GAB Robins North America, Inc. He began his insurance career in 1998 with Murdock Claim Management Company, where he rose through the ranks to become president of the company in 2005.
He is a member of the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance.
