American Modern’s McNutt New Claims Committee Chairman for NAII
David McNutt, senior vice president of claims for Cincinnati-based American Modern Insurance Group, has been named chairman of the Claims Committee of the National Association of Independent Insurers (NAII).
“David’s many years of experience as a claims professional make him the ideal choice to guide the claims committee,” said John Eager, senior director of claims for the NAII. “We look forward to working with him in addressing the many challenges facing claims professionals in today’s marketplace.”
McNutt will lead the claims committee in working with member companies to develop public policy, providing insight to NAII staff for conducting research in support of that policy, and preparing information to support NAII’s lobbying positions.
He also sits on the Claims-Program Subcommittee, and is helping to prepare NAII’s Joint Executive Claims Workshop to be held in Washington, D.C. on Sept. 25-26. Themes will include federal vs. state insurance regulation, class action reform, grassroots lobbying, claim-related regulatory issues, and trade association priorities.
In his current position of senior vice president of claims for American Modern, McNutt is responsible for all claims operations for all of the insurer’s products in 50 states.
He has 17 years of experience working both personal and commercial lines claims. Before joining American Modern, McNutt was a casualty adjuster with Safeco Corporation.
