BWC Notes Fall WC University Registration
The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) announced the beginning of registration for its fall Workers’ Compensation University (WCU) series. The fall conferences will focus on strategies for workers’ comp cost containment and workplace safety initiatives.
“Ohio businesses can benefit from WCU’s cost cutting strategies and use the money they save on workers’ compensation costs to invest in other areas of their company,” said BWC Administrator/CEO James Conrad. “By making workplace safety a top priority, Ohio employers keep their employees safe from harms way and are able to invest that savings into growing their business.”
WCU is an educational conference designed to provide information about the agency’s programs and services to Ohio’s injured workers, employers and medical providers. Each conference offers a variety of seminars that provide in-depth information on cost-saving solutions and strategies to improve workplace safety.
As in years past, attendance is free.
WCU will kickoff on Sept. 9 in Dayton. Conferences will follow in Akron, Cleveland, Columbus, Toledo, and the tour will conclude in Cincinnati on Sept. 28.
On-site registration for each conference begins at 8 a.m. with the conference’s general session beginning at 8:30 a.m. BWC expects attendance to exceed 7,000 for the fall WCU series.
WCU will continue to provide participants with an opportunity to obtain contact hours and continuing education units. Credit for Step 6 also will be available for state-fund employers who are enrolled in BWC’s 10-Step Business Plan.
