Office Brings Service to Northeastern Ohio Residents

December 7, 2004

The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) announced a new addition to the neighborhood; the Ashtabula Customer Focus Center (CFC). To celebrate its arrival, BWC was to host an open house on Wednesday, Dec 8 at 9:30 a.m.

“We are pleased to have a convenient, one-stop-shop for Ashtabula residents who need information about BWC and its services,” said BWC Administrator and CEO James Conrad. “Now, injured workers, employers and medical providers can talk to Bureau employees by going no further then their own backyard.”

Conrad and City Council President Bob Beacom were scheduled to provide remarks at the event. The new office is located at 525 Lake Ave. and will hold three BWC employees.

At the CFC, BWC customers will be able to speak face to face with knowledgeable staff. Like other BWC offices, individuals can file a claim, start a policy, learn about safety programs and research cost saving solutions. The 1,325 square foot facility will service residents of Ashtabula, Lake, Geauga, Trumbull and Portage Counties.

The CFC concept is part of a new customer service initiative started by BWC. Recently, the Bureau opened a similar pilot office in Bridgeport, Ohio.
