Ohio Man Sentenced in Workers’ Comp Case
The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) announced an Aurora man has been sentenced for a misdemeanor charge of workers’ compensation fraud.
Ronald Pannetti was sentenced to one year probation and ordered to pay BWC $2,010.39 in restitution and $2000 in investigative costs.
BWC’s special investigations unit (SIU) became aware of possible fraud by Pannetti when the unit learned he reportedly continued to manage and operate his three businesses. The investigation confirmed Pannetti was actively working for Total Tenant Construction, R.A.P. Electric Company and D.R.C. Contracting while receiving workers’ compensation benefits. Pannetti performed electrical work, general construction labor and served as a foreman.
Pannetti suffered a back injury in both March 1987 and April 1996. At the time of his injuries he worked for R.A.P. Electric Company. BWC awarded Pannetti temporary total disability and living maintenance benefits for his injury.
