Safelite Pulls in More than $125,000 for United Way
The Columbus corporate offices of Safelite Group, a provider of auto glass and claims management services, raised more than $125,000 for the United Way of Central Ohio during its 2004 annual campaign.
“As an organization, we firmly believe in the programs and initiatives that United Way supports,” said Safelite Group President & CEO Dan Wilson. “Our annual campaign reminds us all of how important it is for companies to give back to the community in support of critical issues ranging from homelessness to education.”
Since 1992, Safelite Group and its associates have contributed nearly $2 million to the United Way organization. The company’s 2004 contribution included associate payroll deductions, a corporate match and funds raised through associate-planned company events during a two-week United Way campaign in mid-November.
“Department-planned and coordinated events give dozens of Safelite associates the opportunity to participate in the campaign’s success by motivating their peers to contribute in fun and creative ways,” said Jenny Cain, Safelite’s United Way campaign co-coordinator. “The events also inspire teamwork and a strong sense of community giving.” This year’s associate activities included a raffle for prizes donated by senior leadership, silent auction, root beer float stand, bake sale, candy cart, golf putting contest and an Ohio State-themed lunch.
