Ind. Steakhouse Owner in Hot Water; Reportedly Involved in Fire

An Indiana man is in trouble with the law for his reported involvement in a business fire.

On Nov. 13, 2005, a fire destroyed Rick’s Steakhouse, at 5 South Main Street, Cloverdale, Indiana and now the owner, a Greencastle, Indiana man, has been arrested by Federal agents.

The restaurant business included an arcade game room, a bakery and a gift shop. It had been owned and operated by Rick Romandine, since January, 2005. The total loss of structure and contents was estimated at approximately $350,000.

On March 3, 2006, in an early morning arrest, Romandine, 46 was taken into custody at his residence in Greencastle by ATF agents and U.S. Marshals.

“The person that caused this fire put the lives of every responding fireman and police officer at risk and deprived the community of their valuable services. Arson not only costs a community its resources, but also its peace of mind,” said Christopher Sadowski, special agent in charge of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
