Extension Allowed for N.D. Workers’ Comp Study
North Dakota’s workers’ compensation agency hopes to hire a consultant to study its operations by mid-January.
The chairman of the Workforce Safety and Insurance board and Gov. John Hoeven’s staff lawyer have agreed on the wording of an advertisement for the consultant.
The consultant’s report is due by Feb. 15. The advertisement says the consultant may ask for a time extension if needed.
Hoeven has pushed to hire the consultant because of recent management problems at WSI. A board of directors is in charge of hiring the agency’s chief executive officer. The board had to agree to the review.
