Iowa Woman Awarded $250,000 in Harassment Lawsuit
A federal jury has awarded a Sioux City woman more than $250,000 in a harassment case.
The jury sided with Jaymie Quigley, who accused her landlord of sexually harassing her and withholding her rent deposit.
She filed the lawsuit in June 2006, accusing Dale Winter of sexually harassing her at the home she rented from him from July 2002 to June 2004. She also accused Winter of withholding her $525 rent deposit after she told him to leave while the two were discussing the condition of the house.
Winter’s attorney, Robert Deck, says they were “astounded” by the verdict and plan to consider their appeal options.
