Wood Products Company to Rebuild Building Destroyed by Fire
A southern Indiana wood products company plans to rebuild its warehouse and factory destroyed in a Feb. 2 fire.
Harrison County officials have agreed to provide $900,000 in utility improvements for the Norstam Veneers plant in Mauckport, Ind.
The company’s insurance will replace the factory space and equipment, but the insurance company insisted on increased fire protection. County officials agreed to enlarge water lines into the plant so the fire sprinkler system can be expanded.
About 55 of the company’s 120 employees are working in leased space elsewhere. Company officials expect all workers to be back on the job when the building is completed in December.
The company produces wood veneers and lumber.
