Iowa Fire Destroys Businesses, Apartment Building
Fire has destroyed two auto businesses and an apartment in the northern Iowa town of Nora Springs.
When firefighters arrived, smoke was billowing from the businesses and apartment.
Paul’s Auto and Eastman’s Auto Repair were destroyed. An attached apartment also was destroyed.
Minor damage was reported to the shingles and siding of a nearby apartment complex and a firefighter suffered minor injuries.
Fire officials say a gusty wind blew smoke from the fire throughout town and that at least three nearby homes had to be ventilated because of the smoke.
The investigation is continuing.
Nora Springs is just east of Mason City.
