Iowa Tornadoes Damage Farm Structures, Trees During Storm
Tornadoes embedded in thunderstorms damaged farm structures and uprooted trees in parts of northern and western Iowa.
The damage occurred as a string strong thunderstorms rolled across Iowa from the northwest moving southeast. Damage was reported in Kossuth and Caroll counties.
According to the National Weather Service, the storms dumped nearly two inches of rain over central Iowa.
In Caroll County, about three miles southwest of Dedham, a tornado flattened a barn and caused damage to a house. In Kossuth County, tornadoes uprooted trees and damaged several farm buildings and machinery.
The National Weather Service also reported tornado briefly touched down in Marshall county, though no damage was reported.
