Web Site for Minnesota Bridge Victims Goes Online Today
Victims of the Interstate 35W bridge collapse can find information about filing claims for compensation on a new Web site that goes online on Monday, Aug.4, 2008.
The site is bridgecollapseclaims.com. It was put together by the panel of lawyers who are administering a nearly $37 million victim compensation fund created by the Minnesota Legislature.
Chairwoman Susan Holden says site includes forms and basic information about submitting claims.
Those who were injured and the families of 13 people killed in the collapse have until October 15 to file for compensation from the state fund. But they don’t have to decide whether to give up their right to sue the state and other Minnesota government entities until the panel has made them an offer early next year.
