Ohio: $1.2 Billion in Insurance Claims for 3rd Quarter of 2008
The Columbus Dispatch reports that Ohio had $1.2 billion in insurance claims for the third quarter of the year, trailing only hurricane-hit Texas and Louisiana.
That’s up from $62 million in claims during the same period last year.
The Sept. 14 windstorm downed power lines and ripped up trees and left thousands without power for several days
As a result of the storms, roof-repair companies say they’re having trouble keeping up with thousands of damage claims from the September windstorm.
Albe Roofing says it has installed about 3,000 tarps on central Ohio homes as a stopgap measure because it can’t make repairs fast enough.
Feazel Roofing company president Mike Feazel says his roof-replacement work is backed up well into January.
