May 6, 2009

Columbus, Ohio-based vehicle glass repair and replacement company, Safelite AutoGlass, is adding 300 jobs in a newly finished contact center in northwest Columbus, Ohio, beginning in May.

The state-of-the-art contact center, which will encompass 25,000 sq. ft. on the first floor of the Safelite headquarters building located at 2400 Farmers Drive, is designed to promote a comfortable, energetic work environment through the use of technology, ergonomic work stations, up-lighting and a vibrant color scheme.

Safelite AutoGlass started its contact center operations in Columbus in 1991 with 12 customer service representatives. The company currently employs more than 1,300 people who answer calls as a third party administrator for insurance companies as well as manage overflow calls from the company’s retail vehicle glass repair and replacement business.

Hiring at the contact center will include full and part-time positions to field inbound calls for customers wanting to schedule vehicle glass services with the company. The systems used at the contact center are easy to use regardless of technical experience. Safelite AutoGlass provides flexible schedules, a compensation structure based on sales and potential promotion from within for new and existing employees.

Once the new contact center is opened the company will employ more than 1,800 between its three contact center locations, its corporate offices and retail operations in Central Ohio.

The contact center will be staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Customers may call (800) 800-2727 to schedule service, regardless of their location in the United States.
