More Flood Damaged North Dakota Homes to Be Bought
North Dakota’s congressional delegation says the Federal Emergency Management Agency is providing money to buy out more flood-damaged homes in Cass County.
Sens. Kent Conrad and Byron Dorgan and Rep. Earl Pomeroy, D-N.D., say FEMA will contribute about $5.8 million to cover 75 percent of the cost of buying 26 more houses damaged in last spring’s Red River flooding.
The county will contribute the remaining $1.9 million.
The decision brings to 44 the number of houses that have been approved for FEMA buyouts.
