EEOC Sues Missouri Firm, Alleges Racial Discrimination
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has filed suit against a southeast Missouri construction company, alleging racial harassment of three black workers and retaliation when they complained.
EEOC filed the lawsuit in U.S. District Court in St. Louis against Dollins Construction Co. of Sikeston. A phone message left with the company’s owner, Phillip Dollins, was not returned. There was no phone listing for the company.
The lawsuit alleges that three workers were subjected to harassment at an Indiana work site in 2006 by Dollins and two of his brothers. EEOC says the harassment included the display of a noose.
The suit alleges that when one of the victims complained, Phillip Dollins did not send any of the men to any other jobs.
