Woman Gets Jail for Role in Nebraska Racial Threats Case
A Lincoln woman who helped a former football coach make racially charged threats at an insurance company has been sentenced to a year in jail.
Authorities say 39-year-old Christina Donald helped Jose Jefferson write the letters earlier this year to Ameritas Life Insurance of Lincoln, where he worked.
The letters threatened death to all blacks at Ameritas.
The 38-year-old Jefferson was sentenced last week, also to a year in jail.
Jefferson’s attorney says his client sent the letters in response to an anonymous letter left on Jefferson’s desk that said he wasn’t qualified for the job.
Jefferson has held several coaching jobs, including with Lincoln High School, Nebraska colleges and local indoor pro football teams.
