4 Dead in Wisconsin Tavern Fire
Four people are dead after a southwestern Wisconsin bar went up in flames.
Lafayette County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy John Reichling says the fire at the Silver Dollar Saloon in Blanchardville was discovered around 3:20 a.m. Dec. 21.
The building housed the bar as well as upstairs apartments. Reichling says five area fire departments kept the blaze from spreading to other buildings, but the bar building was destroyed.
He says the bodies of four adults were found inside. He didn’t know precisely where. Their identities have not been released. Reichling says the county coroner is investigating.
Blanchardville lies 30 miles southwest of Madison.
