Federal, State, Local Teams Assess Minnesota Flood Damage
Teams of county, state and federal officials are beginning to assess the damages caused by this year’s spring flooding in Minnesota.
Teams will look at possible damages to infrastructure such as roads, bridges and public buildings. The teams will be in Stillwater, Mankato and Moorhead counties this week. A total of 14 counties will be assessed.
The teams include officials from the Minnesota Department of Public Safety Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The assessments are a necessary step in determining whether a federal disaster will be declared for Minnesota.
