Missouri To Get Federal Disaster Aid for Storm Damage
Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon says federal officials have granted his request for federal disaster assistance in 29 counties hit by floods and severe storms.
Nixon said the disaster declaration lets local governments be reimbursed for 75 percent of their costs of repairing storm-related damage.
The declaration covers damage from floods, tornadoes and other severe weather from June 12 to July 31.
Counties included in the declaration are Adair, Andrew, Atchison, Buchanan, Caldwell, Carroll, Cass, Chariton, Clark, Clinton, Daviess, DeKalb, Gentry, Grundy, Harrison, Holt, Howard, Jackson, Lafayette, Lewis, Livingston, Mercer, Nodaway, Putnam, Ray, Schuyler, Scotland, Sullivan and Worth.
